Sons of Liberty

I was introduced to this one-man power show of a band as a thank you for my review of The Right Arm of Wyoming.  This band is a side/solo project of Jon Schaffer of Iced Earth.  For those of you who aren’t into heavy music, that’s one of the more well-known mainstream heavy metal bands.

This album is all about what’s happening to us as the New World Order takes us down and features some good music from a great guitarist and musician, but not necessarily a great singer.  Regardless, the content is awesome and the music is very well-done.

The album debuted in December 2009 as an online-only purchase for download.  It features songs with titles like Jeckyll Island, Our Dying Republic, Tree of Liberty, and We the People.  Jon went public with his album, appropriately, on the Alex Jones Show.

The Sons of Liberty website is pretty good too, with links to several good blogs (not mine, though… he’s obviously not that well informed) and sites as well as a great bibliography of informational reading.

All in all, this is great stuff for the liberty-minded types.  If you aren’t one of those and just like heavy music, this is a good choice too.  Most of the songs have YouTube videos from fans now and they can be streamed from Sons of Liberty for free.
